Paul, two people searching for meaning in an environment of overwhelming
stimulation. Social media is flooded with headlines that read “Bring Back Our
Girls” but also “36 Ingenious Ways to Eat Peanut Butter for Breakfast”. Online
users present themselves via curated snippets of themselves through Facebook
and Snapchat which can capture genuine human moments but can also represent us
as more successful or more superficial than they truly are. This piece explores
how it is possible to differentiate the genuine from the artificial when there
is so much noise!
