Join Artistic Director, Michael Manswell for a free Afro-Caribbean class this Sunday, January 10. You'll learn a variety of dances with African, European, and indigenous influences, including the upright and elegant Bele (bell-eh); the waltz-like Spanish Joropo; the joyous Tobago Jig; dances of the traditional masked Carnival characters; and dances of the sacred Orisha tradition of West Africa. A fount of knowledge, Michael also shares the history behind the dances for a richer understanding of what you're learning.

FREE introductory class this Sunday, January 10 from 2:00-3:30pm at Gibney Dance: 53 Chambers St, near Broadway.
